| Blues Earn 6-5 Win Versus Bats | The Memphis Blues had to overcome a big game from Austin designated hitter Juan Acevedo to leave Gateway Field with a victory. And they did, winning 6-5. Acevedo went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win elevated the Blues to 31-27.
The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Memphis trailing 5-4, Tim Walker jumped on a 2-2 fastball from Sean Whelpley for a 2-run home run, sending the Blues to a walk-off win.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Walker, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
