| Bats Lose to Dogs, 4-2 | The Chicago Dogs topped the Austin Bats, 4-2, in Heartland League action at Dell Diamond. The game was highlighted by the performance of Chicago pitcher Bob Grosch. Grosch went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 4-5. The Dogs go to 38-58 with the win.
Chicago used a well-timed hit by César Arencibía to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Dogs ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it was important.
Grosch called the win "a team effort."
