| Canadians Win, 9-3, at Charlotte | A good performance from catcher Sergei Bobrovsky helped the Vancouver Canadians defeat the Charlotte Knights, 9-3. Bobrovsky was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored 3 runs for the Canadians. César Sánchez, the winning pitcher, is now 5-10. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 1. The triumph puts Vancouver at 84-62 for the season.
Vancouver used a well-timed hit by Lanny Menéndez to capture the win. The second baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Canadians ahead, 6-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Bobrovsky.
