| Liberty Drop Samurai, 6-3 | The Philadelphia Liberty topped the China Grove Samurai by the score of 6-3, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Vinícius Vidonho. Vidonho went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Liberty. José Sprow earned the win to go to 1-1. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts in 8 innings of work. Dave Varbel, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Vidonho contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Philadelphia in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Vidonho took a sinker from José Guzmán and stroked the double to left-center. His 3rd double of the season allowed the Liberty to leap in front, 4-3.
"We'll build on this win," said Vidonho.
The Liberty, now 5-13, have not found much traction so far in 2051.
