Minneapolis Millers starter Iván Carrillo pitched his team past the Memphis Blues, 6-2. Carrillo, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks.
Minneapolis used the clutch hitting of Liam Trudgeon to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Millers the lead, 6-2. For the game, Trudgeon had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
Trudgeon attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
The Millers, now 18-4, have stormed out of the gates.
